1st Class Breast Star of Russian manufacture, made by “Faberge”, 90 mm., Silver, with highly convex, smooth rays of different width, the centre in gilt silver, bordered by ornaments, enriched with alternate green and blue enamel and engraved, archaich Chinese, calligraphic inscriptions throughout, carved, red coral on paleblue enameled base, fl anked by two separately-made and applied silver, chiseled dragons rampant facing upwards and a Chinese inscription between the two opposite jaws, the whole within a blue enameled border, the reverse with convex countermedallion struck with the St. Petersburg silver mark and the master’s mark “Ф.Р.” (Fëdor Ivanovich Rückert, Moscow, born 1840 – died in 1917, worked at Faberge’s atelier since 1887, later appointed as workmaster under Carl Faberge, also specializing in cloisonne enamelwork); the pin, struck with St. Petersburg’s sign and the “Ф.Р.” master mark; vertical pin.
