Gold, 30 mm., 15 g., The obverse with head of Franco facing left, within inscription in two lines above “LEADERS POLITICOS EN EL MUNDO” “POLITICAL LEADERS IN THE WORLD”; then at left “ESPAÑA” and “SPAIN”, and “FRANCO” below; the reverse with allegory of the world’s nations represented by flags radiating above the Earth’s globe with a scroll insribed “POLITICAL LEADERS IN THE WORLD”, a short oak and laurel wreath above which the title and weight are indicated “GR. 15 ORO LEI 900” and the initial of the artist, “NV”; around a long inscription repeating “Leaders Politicos en el Mundo” in 5 languages, including Russian.
A piece from a series struck in the 60’s by a private mint, to honour all the then living top leaders from all over the World: this piece surely was presented to Franco as a homage. Very rare, mint state! RR!
