1st Class Set of the Type awarded between 1908 and 1918. Sash Badge in Gold, 88 x 50 mm., with dark green enameled cross, red enameled centre with golden inscription within white enameled outer circlet with cyrillic motto in gold lettering and laurel branches, reverse centre medallion with gold inscribed
date of foundation of the Bulgarian state, typical trefoil upper loop, royal Bulgarian crown with enameled “jewels” and inner cap, grooved and pearled suspension ring, mounted to its original crimson-red sash with black side stripes. Breast Star, 85 mm., with Silver, smooth rays, centre medallion in gold with crowned lion on translucent, red enamel, within a fine, diamond-cut ring, green enameled outer circlet with the cyrillic order’s motto in gold lettering and laurel branches tied by a stylized bow, the whole, within a larger, diamond-cut ring, smooth, “frosted” reverse, with broad centre disc, struck with “A”, “greyhound’s head silver marks and the lozenge “F.R” mark of Rothe, Vienna, vertical pin, struck with two “A” and “C.F. ROTHE” – “WIEN” marks. In the original red case of issue, the lid embossed with Bulgaria’s royal crown and the indication of the class in gold (one closure, missing). An outstandingly beautiful set of great rarity and best quality, undoubtedly created in the workshop of Messrs. Rothe & Neffe, Vienna, before 1914, excellent condition. I R!
