Order of the Chrysantemum

Collar Chain and Collar Badge, instituted in 1888. Badge, gilt Bronze, 82x58 mm, both sides enameled, four-pointed star of white enameled, swallow's tailed beams, flanked by orange-yellow enameled, stylized chrysantemum flowers, between green enameled foliage; translucent-red enamel centre, representing Japan's symbol of the rising sun; hinged suspension also in the form of an enameled chrysantemum flower, the reverse identical to the obverse, but the suspension, with japanese inscription on orange-yellow enamel; suspension ring. The Chain,76 cm., gilt Bronze, one side enameled, 25 medallions. An extremely rare collar, aawarded by the Emperor of Japan to heads of states! A beautiful collector's copy, of an almost impossible to get original, in excellent condition. I
