Miniature of the Order, 44x18 mm., GOLD and enamels, a fine, rectangular golden buckle (an almost unreadable gold mark, to the lower, left corner) with a hinged, one-sided miniature of the Order, acting as the closure with safety- catch, with passing through, original ribbon together with the official letter signed by the Duke of Cadore (Jean-Baptiste de Nompère de Champagny) for the bestowal of the Grand Cross of the Order to a Count, dated in Paris, on April 3rd, 1813.
In the letter, it also announced the sending of all the insignia, by order of the Emperor.
An interesting documented group, related to the highest class of an important order of Napoleon’s era. Extremely fine! I R!
