Military Order of St. George and of the Reunion

Breast Badge of the Order, 64x40 mm, GOLD, red enameled arms, flanked by a thick, green enameled laurel wreath and crossed swords, obverse centre medallion with golden St. George and the dragon on white enamel, blue enameled outer circlet with motto “IN HOC SIGNO VINCES” in golden lettering, identical, reverse medallion, but the blue enameled outer circlet bearing the golden inscription “VIRTUTI” and a laurel wreath below, hinged upper crown with polished details, original ribbon with “Italian” style, original mount with metal hook and thread loop. A beautiful piece of extraordinary quality and workmanship, of probable French manufacture, surely earlier than 1860, excellent condition. I RR!
