ORDER OF SAINT ANNA

GOLD Bar of the Order, for military merit, 47x33 mm, rectangular with polished boder and the centre with beautifully-done “frosted” finish, bearing the crowned Order’s merit medal in GOLD and red enamel, with an obliquely-fitted “Epée”, beneath the bar, fitted with its original ribbon. A beautiful piece, as used in the period of the Napoleonic wars and shortly after, after the Austrian use of the so-called “Mode-Spangen”, a forerunner of the field ribbon bars as in use from the late 19th Century, excellent condition.
