Carved wooden neck medal, 43 x 35 mm., in an oval shape about the "prophet Daniel of the lions" whose legend has been relayed by the main religions. Old handicraft work from the Mount Athos workshop, dated 1928 on the reverse. The devotion to Daniel refers to two Biblical episodes recounted in the so-called Book of Daniel, some episodes apocryphal for Protestants and Jews. Hundred-year-old Mount Athos medals are rare. Extremely fine condition and rare! I R!
