Sash Badge, 84x57 mm, in GOLD and red enamel on both sides of the cross; chiseled gold portrait of the saint on deep-blue enamel, within red-gold outer circlet; reverse medallion with golden inscription “PRO DEO ET PRINCI PE” on deep-blue enamel within golden outer circlet with date of institution of the order in gold lettering; reverse-shaped upper loop with hinged, green enameled laurel wreath, the reverse with maker’s mark of Tanfani, Rome and grooved/ribbed suspension ring; original, silk sash ribbon. Breast Star, 87 mm, with chiseled and pierced rays, centre ingold an enamels as the order’s badge; the reverse, with retaining nuts, maker’s escutcheon of Tanfani, Rome and vertical, flat pin; in the original, red morocco case of issue, with maker’s markof Tanfani, printed in gold on the inner cushion; the lid, embossed with the arms of Pope Leo XIII(1878 – 1903).
