Order of Cultural Merit (1931)

Commander`s Cross, 2nd Model, in gilt Silver, hallmarked “24-41, ARG”, maker’s mark “cfZ (Zimmermann)”, on obverse the portrait of King Mihai I, on reverse the order`s legend “Prin cultura la libertate” (Through Culture Toward Liberty). Original suspension ring, loop and ribbon for church. Instituted by the royal decree 2684 on 19th of July, 1931, the Order of Cultural Merit had four classes. Different ribbons denoted the various activities for which the award was given. Extremely rare and in superb condition!
