Grand Officer's Set of the Order. Neck Badge in gilt Bronze white enameled 5-pointed star with ball finals, flanked by straight bundles of rays and surrounded by a green enameled palm and laurel wreath; golden centre medallion bearing the embossed head of a roaring lion, within blue enameled outer circlet enriched by the Order’s motto “HONOR ET GLORIA” in golden lettering; golden reverse centre medallion with the year “1865” in raised characters on finely pebbled ground, within blue enameled outer circlet, bearing the inscription “PRAEMIVM MERITI”; elaborate suspension as two scrolling ribands joining to the top, where is hinged a horizontal, green enameled laurel wreath with sphaerical upper loop and round ribbon ring to append the badge to the ribbon. Breast Star in Silver, as a five-pointed star with polished, faceted fields, pebbled borders and ball-finals, flanked by bundles of five rays; centre medallion with embossed head of a roaring lion, within outer circlet bearing the inscription “HONOR ET GlORIA PRAEMIVM MERITI”; polished reverse, fitted with horizontal thin pin and hook, in original case of issue with miniature and lapel hole rosette and gilt weapon on the lid.
