An early Breast Badge, 27x15 mm., GOLD, made as an oval medallion with a chiseled pattern of leaves tied by black enameled riband, white enameled centre medallion with Christ’s “crown”, and applied “sword-cross” of St. Yago, upper suspension with an elaborate pattern of stylized leaves, flowers and blue enameled rocailles ending with a loop still retaining its link-ring of flattened section and round ribbon ring, smooth reverse.
A beautiful and extremely rare badge of the finest, mid 18th Century manufacture, excellent condition. I- RR!
