Sash Badge, 48x38, GOLD, with white enameled cross’ arms, centre medallion with separately-made image of the saint riding a horse within blue enameled outer circlet with the Order’s motto “PREMIO A LA CONSTANCIA MLITAR”, reverse with centre medallion bearing the founder’s monogram “F.° VII”, Imperial crown suspension with enameled details, the ring, struck with Spanish gold marks and the maker’s name “CEJALVO”; original full length sash. Breast Star, 77 mm. with 133 diamonds for a total of 6,14 ct., the border and the ball finials, profusely set with brilliants, the arms, enriched with gold details of trophies, the centre with the Saint on sky-blue enamel, white enameled outer circlet with the Order’s motto, the whole surrounded by a green enameled laurel wreath, the reverse, with gold marks and maker’s name “CEJALVO” and Spanish gold marks struck on the counter-medallion, thin, round pin and two side-hooks, lapel miniature of the Order in gold and enamels, in the form of the breast star, with gold-wire button, in the original dark red morocco case of issue, the lid with a rectangular, silver plaque, with engraved dedication “El Cuerpo de Ejercito de Castilla al GENERAL SOLCHAGA”.

Josè Solchaga (1881-1953), was one of the prominent military personalities of Spain, since the campaigns in Northern Africa, where he distinguished himself on many occasions, at the outbreak of the Civil War, vainqueur of the battle of Bilbao, he took the command of important units, actively participating to the operations, as a fervent monarchist, in 1943 he was among the high-ranking officers addressing to Francisco Franco for the restoration of the monarchy.
