Collar of the Order, Military Division, 124 cm., Silver, composed by 13 “O” links, 13 ornamental links of a moresque pattern, all connected by short sections of chain, the 13th “O” link, fitted with round loop to which the Silver Badge, 100 x 86 mm., is appended, as a red enameled, six-pointed star of peculiar, moresque design, bordered with brilliants and flanked by the Sultanate symbol of the Jambiya dagger and crossed blades, centre medallion with embossed, calligraphic, Arab inscription, within border set with brilliants, green enameled outer circlet, bearing long calligraphic Arab inscription, smooth, concave reverse, in the original, large, red presentation case, with ivory colour, fitted inner compartment.
A most rare group set of Oman’s second ranking chivalric order, of the type reserved to foreign, highest ranking military dignitaries, excellent condition.
Note: the order was instituted in 1913 and after having been discontinued, it was reinstituted in today’s form in 1982, as the hereby offered piece. I RR!
