Order of Mecîdî

1st Class Badge with Diamonds. Pierced Silver Star, 59 x 45 mm., the rays alternated by crescent and star motives, completely set with Diamonds, centre medallion in gold with the Sultan’s tughra, red enameled outer circlet with applied 4 cartouches inscribed with the motto of the order in Arabic characters “HAMİYYET – GAYRET – SADÂKAT – SENE 1268” (1851), golden Crescent and Star suspension, also set with brilliants, with reverse link ring and roughly round ribbon ring, smooth reverse, with piercings to the a-jour work, with original, long, neck ribbon, in the original, red morocco case, with fitted inner compartment.
An extremely rare piece of reduced size, of the best Ottoman quality, excellent condition. I RR!
