Complete group of the highest class of the Order. Collar Chain, 80 cm., gilt Silver, composed of 14 links of elaborate construction and details with polychrome enamels, depicting the State’s symbols and the Islamic red crescent with yellow-golden star, gilt silver collar badge, 100 x 70 mm., as a red enameled seven- armed cross, flanked by polished beams, gold-yellow enameled centre medallion with silver arch, under a pattern of tree branches, forming a heraldic architecture, upper, linked suspension as a red enameled crescent and golden star, within laurel wreath and upper, ribbon ring to append the badge to the collar, polished, smooth reverse, with convex counter-medallion, complete with full- length silk sash riband. Breast Star, 90 mm., Silver, with polished details, gilt silver and enameled centre, as the badge’s obvers but larger, smooth reverse with polished, convex counter-medallion, this, bearing the maker’s cartouche of Spink & Son, London, the whole in the large, dark green morocco case of issue with orange velvet, fitted inner compartment, the lid, embossed with inscription “PADUKA SETIA NEGARA BRUNEI”, the white silk inner cushion, with maker’s mark of Spink & Son, London.
A very rare, early set (Spink is not anymore the maker to the Sultan’s House) of this Order, instituted in 1959, to reward non-military, for faithful, loyal, distinguished and devoted service as well as out- standing merits, inspired by the British-style, its classes give post-nominal letters, for the hereby described piece, “PSNB” and the honour title of “dato seri setia”; excellent condition.
