Oval GOLD Medal, 27 x 23 mm., the obverse with Tughra of Sultan Mehmet V Reşad and the inscription “Constitution, July 10th, 1324” (July 23rd, 1908) in Arabic calligraphy, the reverse with the inscription, also in Arabic calligraphy: “Ottoman Constitutional Government, Liberty, Justice, Equality, 24 Cemaziyülevvel 1326” (July 11th, 1908), with original piercing to the upper border, link ring and suspension ring, with original, silk ribbon.
A very rare medal, instituted in 1909 in two classes, Gold and Silver, to commemorate the introduction of the first modern Contitution of Turkey. Its creation went through severe turmoils and revolts, solved by the intervention of the Army, excellent condition. I RR!
