Gold Medal for Loyalty and Bravery / Medal for Distinction (Sadakât ve Secâ’at / İmtiyâz)

Decoration of the 2nd Type (instituted in 1883), 37,5 mm., the obverse with a trophy of arms, surmounted by the Sultan’s tughra within spreading rays, the reverse with long inscription in Arabic lettering, meaning “This medal is reserved to those who have shown extraordinary loyalty and bravery in serving the Ottoman State, 1302 (1803)”, the cartouche, finely engraved with the recipient’s name and date, with original suspension bar and ribbon.
Very rare and extremely fine condition. I RR!
