Officer’s Badge, 20 x 18 mm., gilt Bronze,
white enameled round medallion, bearing the
inscription “BATALLA DE CHIVA 15 DE JULIO DE 1837”
within green enameled laurel wreath surmounted
by a white enameled scroll, bearing the motto
“DISCIPLINA Y VALOR VENCEN LA FUERZA” in golden
lettering, smooth reverse, upper loop and round
suspension ring, with original, pale blue silk ribbon.
A nice, rare piece dating from the institution
of the decoration in 1837, excellent condition.
