Order of Saint Stanislas

1st Class, Grand Cross Star, instituted in 1765. Breast Star, 84 mm, with chiseled and pierced rays, white enameled Gold centre medallion with "SS" monogram in Gold and red enamel, surrounded by chiseled border and white enameled border bearing golden motto "PRAEMIANDO INCITAT", within green enameled outer circlet with four chiseled Gold laurel branches, the reverse with narrow pin, maker’s mark of C. Hurmann&Co, hallmarked “15 Loth:”. A very rare and superb star of German manufacture, from the 2nd half of 19th Century. I RR!
