Grand Cross Breast Star, 87 mm, GOLD, with highly polished rays, enriched by white enameled, golden stars, superimposed, a white enameled, 9 pointed star, also made of gold, with chiseled, golden highlights, centre medallion with finely chiseled, separately-made monogram on pebbled, gold ground within blue enameled outer circlet, bearing the golden inscription “PADROEIRA DO REINO”, within pebbled border, Gold, broad upper crown, with finely chiselled details, mirror-polished reverse, showing tiny rivets, holding the elements of the obverse and fitted with vertical, round pin and two side-hooks, the centre, counter-medallion, with maker’s cartouche of Krètly, Paris.
A beautiful and rare star, of the finest, French manufacture, from the mid 19th Century, almost excellent condition. I RR!
