“Laureated Golden Cross for Officers” of the Type awarded after 1815 (this piece can be dated to the mid 19th Century), 60x43 mm, white enameled cross in GOLD, surrounded by a green enameled laurel wreath, obverse centre medallion with applied, polychrome enameled image of the Saint on white background, blue enameled outer circlet with the motto “AL MERITO MILITAR” in gold lettering, the reverse centre medallion with the golden, crowned “Two Worlds” on sea, on a sky-blue background, blue enameled outer circlet with the motto “EL REY Y LA PATRIA”, hinged suspension laurel wreath and large, golden ring, with original ribbon.
