Officer’s Cross, 30x19 mm., gilt Bronze, black enameled oval medallion bearing white enameled book with golden inscription “CONSTITUCION DEL AÑO 1837”, within white enameled outer circlet bearing the inscription “DAN SU SANGRE
POR LA LEY Y EL TRONO” in golden lettering, the whole enclosed within green enameled palm and laurel wreath resting on crossed halberds, black enameled reverse medallion, bearing the inscription “NOCHE DEL 7 DE OCTUBRE DE 1841”, upper Royal crown and broad round ring, with original ribbon.
A very rare medal, excellent condition. I RR!
Note: This medal was created by decree of the Regent of the Kingdom on October 17, 1841 to reward the troops of the garrison army in Madrid, his National Militia and other individuals who on the night of the 7th to the 8th of that same month came with weapons in hand in the defense of the Constitution.
