Commander’s Star in Prince Size, 61 mm, Silver, with chiseled and pierced arms, red enameled centre medallion with most finely painted horse, sky-blue enameled outer circlet bearing the Order’s motto “NEC ASPERA TERRENT”, the whole within thick, golden, green enameled laurel wreath, the reverse, fitted with vertical pin. An early star of the finest manufacure, very rare in this class, almost excellent condition. Provenance: the estate of Joseph-Balthazar, count Siméon (1781-1846). Entered in the diplomatic career, participating to the Congress of Vienna, then with important administrative posts and prefect of various Departments. I RR!
