Grand Cross Set, 1st model (1932): Sash Badge, 80x56 mm, Silver gilt, hallmarked "crown-34-81", maker`s mark "HW - Heinrich Weiss" concave cross, beautifully made slightly rounded light blue enamel on both sides and laurel wreaths between the limbs. The medallion on the obverse with Romanian coat of arms, the reverse medallion with the inscription Serviciu Credincios (Loyal Service), long sash. Breast Star with crown above the medallion, 70 mm., partially gilt Silver, enameled, hallmark "900-KK-crown", on the reverse medium pin. The order was instituted by King Carol II on April, 29th 1932. It consists of three classes (Grand Cross, Grand Officer and Commander) and it was also intended to replace the two lower grades of the Carol I Order. In 1937 the collar and officer classes were added and the order was included among war decorations (thus awarded with swords). The order has a very high position in the Romanian hierarchy of awards, being above the older national orders, the Star of Romania and the Crown of Romania. Extremely rare set, of high quality and good condition. Awarded only 25 times! I RR!
