Set for a Commander 1st Class dating from the middle of 19th Century. Neck Cross, 85x55 mm, in GOLD, with obverse and centre medallions with separately made and mounted, white enameled star (typical of early pieces), 68 mm, the four crowns` interior, reinforced with gold spheres, large, bulbous, hinged royal crown and strong, beaded ribbon ring, with black silk neck ribbon. Breast Star made of brilliant-cut chiseled and pierced silver, the centre star, mounted with a large round, convex nut tot he reinforced reverse, this, highly polished and fitted with a round, vertical pin and two side-hooks. A very interesting group, rare to see in such an early type, excellent condition. Dim.: the badge, 85,0x55,0 mm., the star, 68,0x67,0 mm. This order was founded in 1748 by king Frederick I to reward outstanding merits of state officials, civil servants, etc, in any field of the State`s life. I RR!
