Breast Badge, 28,5 x 22 mm., Silver, for NCOs and troops, oval, the obverse depicting a tower with
an oblique sword behind and a scroll bearing the inscription “IRUN” above,
the whole within laurel wreath, the reverse with inscription “17 DE MAYO
1837.”, ball-shaped upper loop and round ribbon ring, with original ribbon.
A rare medal, instituted by the Spanish Queen in June 1836 as a reward
to the officers and troops of either the Spanish army or the men of the
British legion undel General De Lacy; excellent condition.
